- Actively work with Engineering on all DFM/testability/manufacturability issues and design of new products
- Develop new manufacturing processes and build guides
- Design and produce assembly jigs and fixtures
- Layout manufacturing cells with all tooling and services for one piece flow
- Be Production main contact in Project Core Teams
- Suggest and implement improvements to current production processes
- Investigate and solve manufacturing problems
- Investigate Quality problems caused by build and external suppliers
- Identify new production methods and tooling
- Recommend improvements to existing methods of manufacture
- Ensure that existing cellular production is balanced
- Update Existing Build guides in line with improvements and Engineering changes
- Investigate faults identified by other departments and recommend action to prevent reoccurrence
- Assist in factory layout moves
- Lean tools knowledge and experience (5S, continuous improvement, etc)
- Ensure equipment is available and operational
- Ensure equipment is safe to use
- HNC/Degree Engineering discipline (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Electronics)
- 1-3 years experience in a similar role in medium/high volume Electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
- Awareness of modern manufacturing philosophies and techniques
- Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, Solidworks)
- Ideally some machining experience on manual machines (lathe, Mill, bandsaw)
- Basic Knowledge of material processing processes – plastic injection moulding, rubber moulding, metal casting, metal finishing
- Basic Pneumatics knowledge
