Job Description:Job Title - Business Management SpecialistLocation - Pune, IndiaRole DescriptionCash, Surveillance and Messaging Operations team is global organization within Corporate Bank Operations that sits between the Cash Management business & Corporate Bank technology. Cash Operations supports the delivery of a wide range of payment and cash management related products to financial institutions, corporates and non-bank financial institutions. Product examples: Clearing services, Bulk payment and Receivables, Single Payment, Check, Account & Liquidity Management. Surveillance operations is responsible for screening of payments and messages against defined Regulatory and Internal Sanctions & Embargo lists. This activity is completed with close coordination from AFC in order to protect Deutsche Bank from Sanctions related risk. Messaging operations is responsible for activities related to global SWIFT platforms across DB.The Assistant Vice President Business Management Specialist position will report directly to the COO for Cash, Surveillance and Messaging Operations. The COO function is responsible for Head Count, Financial, Management Reporting and Talent & People Management for the global organization. The Business Manager will be responsible for assisting the COO and Global Product Head with all matters related to Financial Management, Headcount Management and where necessary, lead project support for specific initiativesThis high-energy, results-oriented role requires a strong understanding of Financial Management, FP&A, combined with business consulting skills including but not limited to creative problem solving, data analysis and excellent verbal/written communication. The successful candidate will assume ownership of various Business Management tasks and work with the Senior Business Manager and team members to deliver on the core responsibilities of the function. Your key responsibilities
  • Develop deep understanding of Cash, Surveillance and Messaging Operations cost structure and cost drivers across Functional areas and geographic locations in order to maintain accurate full-year financial forecast
  • Key contributor of the monthly Financial forecast process in close partnership with Finance counterparts and Senior Business Manager
  • Engage with Function Heads to gather cost increases demands, cost save ideas and properly documented for review in the appropriate governance forums
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis that provides actionable insight for decision making. It is critical to be able to conduct the analysis, synthesize the key points, present the management and advise on the impact of decision options
  • Produce artifacts (i.e. monthly reporting) that provides a comprehensive and in-depth view of MTD and YTD costs, normalized run-rate, forecasted spend/saves, and full-year forecast by Functional areas and given an update to management team during the monthly governance forums
  • Maintain alignment with Head of Transformation on expected cost benefits of the Change-the-Bank Book of Work to ensure (1) alignment with Function Heads on impact to their respective areas and (2) adjust update based on change dynamics of the Book of Work
  • Ensure all vendor services are budgeted for and Purchase Orders are in place for billing purposes and also manage cost accruals to avoid excess cost
  • Lead and maintain ownership of the annual financial planning process including gathering new demand, business growth, cost saves, projecting future years cost. This requires providing guidance to Functional teams, gathering requirements and producing comprehensive with the right level of information as required for reviews with pertinent stakeholders.
  • Partner with Finance colleagues during the monthly Financial reporting process and be an equal thought partner in producing a forecast that reflects the projected cost trend of the organization
  • Support as deputy to the Senior Business Manager and step in to those responsibilities during her absence.
Your skills and experience
  • Preferably a Chartered Accountant or MBA (Finance) with 12-15 years experience in Financial Management and FP&A
  • Very strong experience in Financial Management, FP&A, Financial Reporting, Financial Modeling, Budgetary Controls.
  • Skilled in tools like Python, Tableau, PowerBI
  • Business consulting experience at a consulting firm or business management experience at a large financial institution
  • Strategic thinking and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset is critical along with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to understand Financials and underlying activity driving the numbers in order to communicate the Financial story to Management
  • Ability to understand the big picture and be able to delve into the details in order to understand problems, communicate the situation and propose solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication (English) and organization skills
  • Expert in handling all Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and understanding of other Financial tools
  • Ability to work professionally under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Open minded, willing to share information and transfer knowledge/expertise to team members and peers
