This role will join a team that helps to build an even stronger trans-Tasman dairy business with reach across Oceania and beyond.About the opportunityThe National HSW Manager, will play a critical role in leading the development and implementation of health, safety, and wellbeing strategies across Fonterra's operations in New Zealand. Reporting to the General Manager Health, Safety & Wellbeing Oceania, you will work closely with site managers and will provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and support to all HSW team members across the Fonterra Oceania business in NZ.This position is also responsible for:
  • Driving continuous improvement and critical risk management across all areas of responsibility
  • Supporting the development and implementation of the HSW strategic plans
  • Partnering with relevant stakeholders (HSW, Engineering, Operations, etc.) to ensure implementation of key HSW projects and initiatives, ensuring these are appropriately planned, resourced and managed to completion
  • Monitoring and analysing performance metrics, generating reports, and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Coaching and mentoring HSW team members to deliver on KPIs and business plans
Ensuring consistency and compliance to the HSW Management SystemAbout youWe are looking for senior HSW leaders that ideally have prior experience within a similar manufacturing environment. You can also demonstrate:
  • A proven track history of leading Health & Safety teams within a similar manufacturing business
  • Tertiary qualification in health and safety or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience with critical risk management and robust risk mitigation processes, ideally involving high-risk plant - areas such as automated food processing machinery, combustible dusts and anhydrous ammonia will be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and influence employees at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong knowledge and experience with event invesgtigation and continuous improvement
  • HSW performance analysis and reporting exposure
  • Leading and coaching teams
