Offer DescriptionRECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant in the group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Physical Chemistry and Technology of Polymersat the Faculty of Chemistry at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.Job description:1) the competition for the position of assistant is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2024,3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Physical Chemistry and Technology of Polymers at the Faculty of Chemistry, full-time contract of employment,4) period of employment: from 01.10.2024 to 30.09 2026 (with the possibility of extension).Requirements:1) MSc degree in the discipline of chemical sciences2) participation in scientific conferences and symposia,3) fluency in spoken and written Polish to an extent that allows to conduct classes in Polish (applies to candidates for whom Polish is not the native language),4) knowledge of English at least at B2 level.Additional requirements:1) scientific experience in the field of chemical sciences, chemistry and technology of polymers, documented by publications in highly rated journals from the list of MEiN.2) experience in scientific cooperation in research projects,3) experience in conducting research related to the synthesis, (bio)chemical modification, and characterization of the well-defined poly(ionic liquid)s, especially nonlinear, for medical applications,4) experience in instrumental analysis used to characterize polymers (NMR, IR, GPC, GC, UV-vis, goniometer, measurement of nanoparticle sizes)5) knowledge of issues related to monitoring release of drug from polymeric systems,6) knowledge of issues related to biological research, including testing of cytotoxicity and antimicrobial activity,7) the ability to cooperation within the scientific group and cooperation with students within SKN,8) the ability to prepare publications, including knowledge of programs necessary for creation of schemes, figures, literature list, etc.Required documents:1) employment application2) a document confirming the degree of Master of Science3) CV,4) information on scientific achievements and experience and a description of the planned scientific development,5) statement of active communication skills in English,6) statement of proficiency in Polish (applies to candidates for whom Polish is not their native language),7) statement of the candidate that the Silesian University of Technology will be the basic place of employment,8) the opinion of scientific supervisor or master's thesis supervisor - on a candidate's predispositions to work as a research and teaching employee.The University offers:1) employment contract for a period of 24 months,2) individual development in pro-quality programs.Prospects for professional development:1) academic mentoring by leading experts in the chemical sciences discipline,2) participation in research in association with other scientific institutions,3) possibility of realization of scientific stay in the other institutions.The application must be submitted: until the day 14.06.2024, the expected date of the competition results: 14.07.2024Candidates negatively evaluated by the selection committee have the right to appeal against the results of the competition within 7 days of their publication on the BIP website.Incomplete or late offers will not be considered.
