- Maintaining and enhancing the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating HR policies, programs, and practices.
- Support all HR practices to attract, develop, and retain the talent necessary to grow and enhance the business in line with the strategic direction.
- Partner with the local leadership team in providing daily support to ensure effectiveness and optimization of its operations and resources.
- Oversee the HR team to ensure optimal performance in achieving business objectives while driving high engagement to lead talent development and succession planning processes for key positions within the organization.
- Assist with the development and execution of programs for learning and development for all employees.
- Plan, organize and execute employee events with the HR team.
- Coach encourage and promote regular, effective ongoing communication with all levels of employees as well as with the union representatives in the Plant.
- Will be actively involved in union related matters including the resolution of grievances and CBA negotiations.
- CHRP designation or a post-secondary degree with a focus on Human Resources.
- A minimum of five years HR management experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Previous experience in a unionized environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to promote cooperation, build consensus, gain support, and influence decision-making and outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills along with a sense of urgency and personal accountability.
- Time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment would be necessary for any applicant to be successful in this role.
- Possess the ability to manage and delegate as required.
- Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) would be required.
- Familiarity with various HR and Employee Management Systems (i.e. PeoplePoint, UKG Time & Attendance).
- A collaborative approach to resolution and a friendly and professional disposition.
