Job SummaryPurpose of the RoleThe cleaner not only has to ensure that the restaurant is spick and span all the time, he also has to have basic knowledge of food, handling of chemical solutions and so on. He/She ensures the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas.Responsibilities
Perform general cleaning
services of a routine nature. * Operate appropriatecleaning equipments and utilize proper cleaning chemicals, safely. * Wash, mop and polish thefloors of assigned restaurant areas. * Dust and wipe all counters,shelves, and tables, as required. * Inspect and unclog all sinkdrains and remove garbage, efficiently. * Report shortage ofequipment and supplies to supervisor and ensure their requisition. * Maintain proper usage of cleaningsupplies and equipment * Remove the trash that accumulates atthe end of each day, and ensure that things are kept in their proper order for the next working day. * Cleaner has to often clean sensitiveequipment like grills, ovens and so on. * Sometimes the restaurant cleaner willalso be required to clean other parts of the establishment, like the sitting area in a restaurant * Report necessary maintenance items
