- To be a technical contributor and go to leader within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver bespoke FTI - biassed projects
- To establish and maintain Professional relationships with the Project Management Organisation (PMO) functions including Project Management and Project Engineering to ensure Safe delivery of project output in accordance with Quality, Cost and Time targets
- To contribute to the development of robust Solution Technical Delivery Plans and to manage change against these plans
- To support uplift and sustainment through Continuing Improvement, the quality of execution and output from the FTI field of delivery
- To support a culture of due diligence throughout execution and output of Engineering activities within their AoR to maintain compliance with quality and regulatory obligations and the QinetiQ Operating Framework
- To support the maintainance of Engineering relationships with internal and third party Aviation Design, Production and Integration partners, focusing on delivery excellence within their AoR
- To support the establishment of an Engineering Community within the field of FTI that aligns with Industry, our competitors and the QinetiQ and AEC goals for future growth. The Community will provide the focus for Compliance and Verification of Engineering output within their AoR
- To uphold our Aviation regulatory obligations within their AoR and suggest changes accordingly
- To establish a culture of knowledge sharing through mentoring, shadowing and internal training packages that contributes to Continued Improvement in the Community's capability
- To establish and maintain Engineering relationships with neighbouring Technical Communities including those engaged in Major Aircraft Modifications, Avionics and Communications Modifications and Uncrewed Air System Modifications within the AEC business streams
- To establish and maintain execution and output in accordance with local policy, process and method and to to collaborate with the Office of Airworthiness in development of local policy, process and method where required for FTI deliverables
- Contribute to a Continuous Improvement Plan for their AoR which will form the basis of regular review with AEC Senior Stakeholders and contribute to AECs strategic future goals
- Recognised as a time served FTI Engineer or Electronics / Electrical Engineer with underpinning knowledge in aircraft safety, maintenance and operational considerations
- General working knowledge of the range of commercial FTI system offerings and thier application, integration, deployment and data outputs
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the application of FTI systems to aircraft primary systems and components
- Able to apply internal and external business factors to influence decision making with their AoR
- Ability to work independently to influence decision making within AoR requiring guidance in more complex situations
- Professional and assertive communicator and able to conduct formal reviews of technical detail in the field of FTI and aircraft integration and test phases
- Awareness of wider Aviation industry practice and general Engineering best practice that will enable cultural shift in ways of working
- Demonstrable experience of FTI through personal delivery in the field
- Experience of Military and Civil Aviation, specifically the lifecycle of Aircraft Modifications
- Experience of Verification, Validation and Test phases of an aircraft modification project and the formal acceptance expectations of the customer
- Able to meet the requirements for QinetiQ technical delegation within their AoR
- HNC / HND / Degree in an appropriate Engineering subject matter coupled with commensurate experience in the field of FTI
- At least 5 years experience of the application and through life support requirements of FTI systems in both civil and military aviation environments and ship trials scenarios
