Job Title: Project ManagerLocation: TanzaniaSalary: Market relatedClosing date: End June 2024Employment Type: Contract work (6 Months)Job Summary: As a Project Manager (Retail), you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the ongoing construction and development of a retail mall in Tanzania. This is a contract position for 6 months, focused on ensuring the successful execution of Phase 2 of the project. You will work closely with the construction team, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure quality, timely delivery, and adherence to project specifications.Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee construction activities for Phase 2 of the retail mall project.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Liaise with contractors, architects, engineers, and suppliers to ensure project goals are met.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Resolve any issues or delays that arise during construction promptly.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and updates for stakeholders.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with local regulations and building codes.
  • Manage procurement of materials and equipment needed for the project.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure construction aligns with architectural plans.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in retail or commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management processes, methods, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse team of professionals.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Familiarity with construction software and project management tools.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
