Functional Analyst Data

• Business Liaison: You'll work closely with business users to understand their needs, processes, and data requirements. You'll conduct interviews and gather insights to define functional and non-functional requirements for the BI solution.
• Data Modeling: You'll translate business needs into logical and physical data models, ensuring clear documentation for all aspects. You'll collaborate with data architects and technical leads to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical specifications.
• Data Source Expertise: You'll collaborate with subject matter experts to identify, assess, and understand internal and external data sources, ensuring their relevance and quality.
• Data Modeling & Management: You'll define and update the Conceptual Information Model, as well as logical models for data warehouses and data marts. You'll map source systems to target data models and evolve these models to meet evolving business needs.
• Data Quality & Validation: You'll ensure the data warehouse meets established requirements and service-level agreements, performing validation and testing.
• Collaboration & Communication: You'll coordinate prototype reviews and demos, fostering collaboration with business and technical stakeholders. You'll develop and maintain metadata for all data platform components, ensuring clear documentation.
• Data Governance & Catalog: You'll collaborate with the Data Governance team to populate the data catalog with appropriate business term definitions.
• Technical Architecture: You'll participate in defining and documenting the technical architecture of the data warehouse, including physical components and functionality.
• Project Management: You'll work with the Project Leader to ensure projects are delivered effectively in an agile and pragmatic approach. You may take on the Project Leader role for smaller projects or change requests.

• 5-7 years of experience in data functional analysis
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Strong data modeling experience (conceptual and logical)
• Expertise in data warehousing processes and Kimball dimensional modeling
• Deep understanding of source and target data structures, ETL processes, and products
• Metadata management skills
• Experience with visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, SSRS)
• Master Data Management and Data Quality Management experience is a plus
• Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect) and cloud data analytics tools (Azure data factory, Databricks) is a plus
• Experience working in an agile project environment is a plus
