In this role, As a Tableau developer, your role revolves around leveraging Tableau's suite of data visualization tools to transform raw data into insightful visualizations and dashboards.Responsibilities
- You'll analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be effectively communicated through visualizations.
- Your primary responsibility is to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Tableau Desktop. These dashboards should be intuitive, visually appealing, and capable of conveying complex information succinctly.
- Utilize Tableau's extensive range of visualization options to represent data in various formats such as bar charts, line graphs, heat maps, scatter plots, etc., ensuring clarity and relevance.
- Integrate data from multiple sources into Tableau, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity. This may involve data cleaning, transformation, and modeling.
- Optimize Tableau workbooks and dashboards for performance, ensuring fast load times and efficient use of system resources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including data analysts, business users, and IT teams to understand requirements, gather feedback, and iterate on visualizations to meet evolving needs.
- Document data sources, data models, and dashboard designs to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and maintainability.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau usage, best practices, and troubleshooting common issues.
- Keep abreast of the latest Tableau features, updates, and industry trends in data visualization and analytics.
- Adhere to data governance policies and standards to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough testing of dashboards to ensure accuracy, functionality, and usability.
- Continuously evaluate and improve Tableau solutions to enhance usability, performance, and business impact.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as an Tableau Developer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of database concepts and SQL.
- Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in Tableau Desktop for dashboard development, data visualization, and report creation.
- Familiarity with Tableau Server for publishing and sharing dashboards.
- Experience in data integration, data modeling, and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of databases and data warehousing concepts.
- Tableau Desktop or Tableau Server certifications demonstrate advanced proficiency and may be preferred.
- Additional experience working with other data visualization tools such as Power BI, QlikView, or D3.js.
- Experience in data analysis, data mining, or business intelligence roles.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of advanced Tableau features such as calculated fields, parameters, sets, and LOD expressions.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of Tableau workbooks and dashboards.
- Understanding of data governance, data security, and regulatory compliance.
