Its products and services offer high value-added solutions which are synonymous with sustainability, our aim is “to do more with less materias and energy”, setting us apart from conventional solutions.Accountabilities:· Assessment/appraisal of Tender opportunities (arising from a variety of sources & filtered by the Sales Team) for suitability to bid.· Reviewing tender information (drawings, specifications etc.) for scope of works to be delivered: requesting further information, as required, to enable tender assessment.· Defining and quantifying scope of work and preparing comprehensive conceptual, budgetary, and firm price construction cost estimates for projects.· Undertaking site visits as required to assess constraints, risk etc associated with the defined scope of work; accompanied where possible by Operations & HSE staff where appropriate.· Working with Operations to agree suitable sub-contract packages & prospective sub-contractors for work elements.· Sending out subcontractor work package enquiries & evaluating responses/attendances etc.· Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications, seeking clarification where required.· Engaging with the HSE Department & Operations / Delivery Teams to obtain sense checks /input for estimates with regard to health & safety requirements and proposed methodologies· Engage with the Technical Solutions Department for Bearing & Temporary Works Design requirements for tenders, as required.· Arranging Tender Launch, Mid Bid Reviews, Settlement meetings throughout the tender period, as required.· Compliance with bid governance requirements, including sign off in line with company Authorisation Matrix re bid value.· Compilation of tender submission documents including offer letter, BoQ or Activity Schedules.· Contribute to contract negotiation and provide handover of successful bids to the Operations / Delivery Teams.· Develop relationships with prospective clients and supply chain contacts.· Maintaining client relationships and uncovering sales opportunities with existing customers.ProfileThe Opportunity:A great opportunity to join our teal at out Head Office in Telford. You will be responsible for the provision of cost estimates for materials and manpower, contract management, project scheduling, vendor management/procurement, project budget for projects ranging from £5k to £5m.Qualifications and Experience:· A degree in (civil) engineering or equivalent in a relevant construction discipline (advantageous)· Proven ability to develop business within the structural repairs and/or specialist construction sectors (essential)· Multi-disciplinary knowledge gained from a number of the following:· (preference will be given to candidates with a good range of relevant sector knowledge):Bridge Repairs
