CCNW uniquely operates as a physician-owned practice comprising of eight clinics throughout Spokane and Idaho. We are currently seeking a full-time Nurse Navigator to join our team.This position reports to the Nursing Manager and functions under general supervision. Oncology nurse/patient navigator is defined by the as "a medical professional whose clinical expertise and training guides patients and their caregivers to make informed decisions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to allow for timely cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and increased supportive care across the cancer continuum."You must be able to recognize and address numerous complications that occur during and after treatment and are instrumental in promoting high-quality and efficient care by educating patients, locating and providing necessary resources, and facilitating more effective communication among the cancer care team.It is necessary to demonstrate knowledge of age specific differences in the cancer patient population including early adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. This includes physiological, psychological, and developmental differences unique to each group. Participates in company wide quality initiatives. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business StandardsMINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.Formal Education, Certification/Licensure, and Prior Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
  • be a graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred
  • have current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in Washington
  • have current Oncology nursing experience
  • have current BLS certification
  • experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer
  • maintain continuing education requirements
It is preferred an individual have:
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize quickly
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Working knowledge of insurance coverage and procedures
  • Working knowledge of community resources
