- Collaborate with project managers, architects, planners, and other stakeholders to develop creative and effective land development solutions.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and reports for site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and due diligence assessments to evaluate project constraints and opportunities.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations to design stormwater management systems, including detention basins, retention ponds, and conveyance systems.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for project development.
- Conduct construction site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates, project schedules, and contract documents.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance and support as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to land development engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and the ability to obtain PE certification within six months of hire.
- Strong technical skills in land development design, including proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading project teams, managing budgets, and interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.
