- Flat rate per hour: $45 - $60 an hour
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify vehicle issues.
- Perform a wide range of repairs, including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, electrical, and other automotive systems.
- Efficiently address and resolve breakdowns, no-start situations, and other mechanical or electrical problems.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, brake pad replacements, and fluid checks.
- Ensure that vehicles receive scheduled maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Travel to customers' homes, workplaces, or roadside locations with a fully-equipped service vehicle.
- Provide services in a timely and professional manner, respecting customers' schedules and preferences.
- Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues accurately.
- Maintain and regularly calibrate tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Complete detailed repair orders, documenting all work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
- Process warranty requests and maintain accurate records of service history.
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining diagnoses and repair options clearly.
- Provide cost estimates and obtain customer approval before commencing repairs.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new automotive technologies.
- Minimum 3 plus years automotive mechanic experience
- Must have reliable transportation
- A strong toolset that you can take on the road
- Valid driver's license and a good driving history
- Current vehicle insurance and registration
- Desire to work independently
- Tech savvy and start-up mentality: Android app available to use but not supported on i-phones
- Strong customer-service skills
- Master Tech or Medium Duty experience is helpful
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds.
- Must be able to inspect the vehicle to determine repairs needed.
- Good vision to check repair work.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to handle tools required to perform automobile repair.
- Exposure to gasoline vapors and other automobile fluids.
- Ability to drive and operate an automobile for long periods of time.
