- Work on a PC with a high degree of accuracy -- experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Follows, assists with, and maintains quality assurance standards and procedures
- Read and interpret simple engineering drawings to complete material and product inspections
- Prepares documents and processes to record results of inspections, and accurately maintains records
- Perform physical property tests (i.e., tensile, hardness)
- Complete quality checks and audits on the production floor
- Responsible for ensuring that all measurement devices are within calibration
- Propose and implement process improvements within the quality assurance department
- Ability to work in and contribute in a team environment
- Wearing proper PPE as needed (Kevlar sleeves, safety glasses, ear protection, and steel toe shoes)
- Keeping a clean and organized work area, as well as general housekeeping (support 5S)
- Any other duties as required
- Standing/Walking: Job requires standing and walking throughout the entire shift.
- Bending: Job requires doing tasks that involve bending.
- Lifting/ Carrying: Job requires lifting and stacking of banded door panels to various levels. Maximum required individual lifting limit is forty-five (45 pounds). Must be able safely work with another team member to carry or lift door panels in excess of forty-five pounds. Frequency of lifting and carrying is job task dependent.
- Pushing and Pulling: Pushing of carts is often required. Occasional pulling to steer the cart is required. A force of 50lbs is required to move a loaded cart. Pushing forces required in excess of 50 lbs requires two persons.
- Manual dexterity and preciseness to grip small objects and maneuver hands/wrists to operate gauges and testing equipment.
- Manufacturing experience in a facilitator, technician, coordinator, and/or lead role (or equivalent experience)
- Two years of experience implementing quality (i.e., checks and tests)
- Basic knowledge of company products and processes
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with production leadership
- Ability to operate laboratory-testing equipment
- Experience in gage calibration desired, but not required
- Experience using QMS software desired, but not required
- High school graduate or equivalent
