The Head of Ecommerce is an industry-leading e-commerce expert and contributes to managing, growing, and evolving all aspects of Havas Media's digital retail practice including the development of our E-commerce consulting offer and methodology, and building partnerships with the main local and global E-commerce. Ecommerce includes all three pillars of online sales, with Direct to Consumer website, online store and marketplaces (Amazon, Takealot, Checkers etc.) S/He will lead the whole Ecommerce department in driving revenue and will be focused on reaching yearly targets & objectives fixed by the Group. To reach this objective s/he will foster business opportunities with existing or new clients and will demonstrate excellent closing skills. In the second step, the Head of Ecommerce will have to build and manage a team of e-commerce experts, grow the Ecommerce expertise within the agency or across the village, and secure training across expertise. This role requires the candidate to relocate to South Africa Main Responsibilities Contributes to the development of the Ecommerce proposition within the Agency o Contribute to the definition, content and evolution of Havas Ecommerce products and service offer. o Help to develop the Ecommerce consulting methodology and processes o Localize the Tech stack to support local initiatives o Work across units to develop Content, Website development, media, Strategy, Operations for Ecommerce within the Havas village o Support the Managing Director in evaluating and proposing a full spectrum of Ecommerce alliances, including all appropriate specialist partner agencies, retail platforms, tech platforms, bid and campaign management tools, audit and analytics tools Contributes to the development of the Ecommerce virtual P&L o Develop internal and external customer base on national & regional level o Responsible for growing existing revenue, creating new business opportunities while ensuring business profitability o Identify and develop new business opportunities seeking new value-added services and products to be proposed to the agency's clients and prospects. Ecommerce marketing strategies conception and delivery o Conceive for clients stand-alone or integrated Ecommerce marketing strategies which might span from Consulting and conception of business plans to non-media and media activations. o Develop action plans for achieving and measuring Ecommerce campaign success, including determining key metrics, processes for measurement and optimization o Ecommerce watchdog: continuously monitor latest developments in the Ecommerce industry and will foresee their implications for clients o Be involved in client and inter-agency 'education' of Ecommerce marketing, and be responsible for preparing and presenting best practices, case studies and examples of e-commerce strategies o Ensure all KPIs are well understood and implemented in all Ecommerce proposals (Stock availability, Delivery rates, ROAS, CAC, New customers, O2O ratios...) Be the Spokesman about Ecommerce offer at Havas o Be the main speaker on behalf of Havas in National and Regional events o Write and develop whitepapers about innovative Ecommerce subjects o Ensure Havas visibility locally and regionally Education Master's degree in Business, Marketing or Digital communications. Previous Experience 7 to 10 years' directly related experience in the retail industry Language Skills English - Excellent Key Competencies Extensive understanding (inclusive of the strategic context) of internal and external variables that impact online sales Proven Track record as a Vendor Specialist/Manager at a retailer or as the Head of Ecommerce for an advertiser Experience in Ecommerce negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory, and supply chain management, merchandising and catalogue management, retail Media and retail analytics. Experience launching a new business unit, or working in a start-up or early-stage environment where you had to define best practice is a plus Data Driven: Ability to compile and analyze online sales data and metrics, provide actionable insights and make decisions regarding direction based on your analysis Strong analytical and mathematical skills Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills Strong written communication and presentation skills, native-level fluency in English required Strong knowledge and expertise in industry related matters and ability to service and communicate with a wide range of clients and retail partners Solid understanding and insatiable interest of consumer trends in e-Commerce/Retail Strong decision-making, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills Excellent project-management and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask with ease Ability to take initiative and perform tasks in an efficient and self-sufficient manner Kindly Note: This position is based out of South Africa.
