Job Description:(CISC), which is a part of the research unit of at the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, SDU, invites applications for a position as postdoc in physical activity and movement habits to be filled for a three-year period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.The positionThe postdoc will work on the research and dissemination project 'Moving Denmark' ('Danmark i Bevægelse'), in which data is collected about physical activity and movement habits of children, adolescents and adults in Denmark. Also, the project gathers systematic data about municipal movement policies and initiatives aiming at enhancing physical activity participation. Accumulated and analyzed information is disseminated to municipalities and organizations that work to promote physical activity participation.More information about the 'Moving Denmark' project (in Danish) can be found here: .In the project the postdoc will be one of three daily project managers that work closely together with the project owner to realize the goals of the research project. The postdoc will mainly be responsible for the survey studies that we will conduct in the fall of 2025 among large samples of Danish children, adolescents, and adults. The postdoc will be involved in both survey preparations, data collection and analysis as well as in dissemination - scientific as well as practice-oriented (e.g. in reports, articles and in the form of presentations in various contexts). Practice-oriented dissemination will predominantly be in Danish.The postdoc will also be expected to participate in and contribute to initiatives and activities at CISC, Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics and at the Research Unit, such as meetings, seminars and other departmental events.More information about postdoc positions at the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics in general can be found here: .QualificationsWe are looking for candidates with all or most of the following qualifications:
  • A PhD degree within Social Science, Sociology, Public Health Science, Sport and Health Science or a related research area
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with quantitative research methods and analyses, including statistical data analysis
  • Knowledge of and experience with preparing, conducting, analyzing and disseminating data from survey studies
  • Research experience related to physical activity, sport, health and/or social science studies, documented by research output in peer-reviewed publications
  • Experience with and competencies to engage in dissemination to as well as knowledge exchange and collaborations with and for society
  • Experience with and competencies to act as project manager of research activities
