- Drywall Finishing Process – Employee assists in the complete drywall finishing process including: mixing, carrying and applying mud on drywall; taping seams to reinforce the drywall and hide imperfections; applying compound to joints; covering nail/screw depressions with compound; and beading, sanding to produce a smooth surface for finishing with paint or paper.
- Special Wall treatments – The apprentice will learn and assist with special wall treatments and may be required to apply a variety of textured surfaces to walls and ceiling with trowels, brushes, or spray guns.
- Clean-Up – Employee maintains an organized work space and also protects surfaces, trimmings, fixture and windows, etc. as he/she works through and completes the drywall work. Finisher is also responsible for putting tools and equipment back in its proper place, and returning any unused items at the end of a project.
- Safety- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others on the job site.
- Learning- Learn and apply drywall techniques, including understanding different types of drywall methods and techniques, and the safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Teamwork- Collaborate with experienced drywall professionals and other construction team members to complete projects efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
- Ability to reliably work scheduled hours of 6am-3pm M-F.
- A high school diploma or equivalent (helpful, but not required.)
- Physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in the drywall trade is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and the importance of following them.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test and E-Verify.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Be able to read and understand construction documents in English.
