What you will be doing:A great opportunity has come up in Blue Mountains Hospital for an experienced Administration Officer to join us as a Roster Clerk. The purpose of this position is to ensure that there is adequate resourcing across the casual workforce within Nursing and Wardspersons across the facilities. This position involves communicating with employees and managers across the service to effectively fill daily roster deficits, as well as promptly and accurately entering shift changes into Health Roster (Allocate Optima).If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.Selection criteria to be addressed: * Well developed interpersonal, verbal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with management and staff at all levels
  • Ability to work under limited direction, both independently and collaboratively within the team environment. Well developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with set deadlines and a proven ability to work under pressure
  • Previous experience and capacity to understand and interpret Health Industry Awards and Agreements
  • Experience with the Health Roster (Allocate Optima) system, or equivalent experience with rostering within a complex organisation/facility
  • Demonstrated ability to perform a variety of functions which may be complex in nature, and require judgement in selecting and applying established principles, techniques and methods
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of staffing requirements and skills for each unit, to provide appropriate roster coverage at short notice due to unplanned leave or roster deficits
  • Commitment to promoting a positive workplace culture in a challenging and dynamic work environment within a team of diverse personalities and cultures
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, accuracy and conciseness in documentation
