Job DescriptionThe job in a nutshellThe Billing & Credit Controller will provide support to the Revenue & Cash Control Manager by ensuring accurate reporting of all revenues to support the effective financial management of the business. To include assurance that standard company operating procedures and deadlines are adhered to, and appropriate financial control is applied on a daily basis.The role sits within the Revenue Accounts Team based in the Support Office, Thame. Close working relationships will include, but not be limited to, Sales and Customer Services Department, Accounts Payable, Treasury and Reporting Team.What you'll be doing:Daily responsibility for uploading, posting and accurately reconciling financial and sales transaction files to SUN Accounting System. Understanding of the wider business impact to lead to identification and proactive problem resolution of all discrepancies and anomalies, ensuring full accuracy of data.Coordination and ownership of all accounts receivable billing activities and processing of Sales Invoices. Billing of SOP Orders raised by the business to include reconciliation to Debtors Ledger and resolution of discrepancies identified thereof.Responsibilities to include aspects of relevant Credit Control, resolving issues for clients and customers such as providing copy invoices, credit notes and liaising internally to progress any problems that are being handled in other departments.Regular reporting and reconciliation of certain business areas, to include but not be limited to:Discount and Voucher Reconciliation and subsequent posting to the accounting systemReconciliation of Customer statements to Debtor aging and taking ownership of discrepanciesReporting and posting of Group Sales Prepaid transactions, and subsequent BACS & Card payment postings, invoicing matched against pro-forma payments.Reporting, Posting and issue of Travel Agents Self-bill Commission InvoicesProvide accurate and meaningful aged debt reports and distribution thereof, also statements, overdue notices and prepaid reportsSun bank cash posting & ownership of correct allocation to Sales LedgerAssist the Revenue & Cash Control Manager with month-end tasks as and when required.Assist with filing & archiving requirements and other ad hoc admin as required.Provide cover for other Team Members within Revenue Accounts.Provide cover for daily treasury work on an irregular basis to include preparation of daily cash position report and uploading of bank payment files to the online banking platform.Ad-hoc project based work - Travelodge is a fast moving business that often changes direction at pace which in turn generates various impromptu finance requirements to support the business that this role may be required to support from time to time.What we'll expect from youTo succeed in this role you will have a keenness to progress and develop practical finance/accounts knowledge and skills.You will have experience of working with financial data, previous relevant experience gained working as part of an accounts or finance team is an advantage. Being well organised and able to effectively prioritise in order to work to set deadlines.
