We welcome applications from substantive Detective Chief Inspectors and substantive Detective Inspectors supported for promotion, for the role of Detective Chief Inspector - Deputy Head of Prevent.This is an exciting opportunity to join Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE), where you will work to identify and safeguard individuals vulnerable to radicalisation and manage risk of the CT Prevent Network delivery Business Plan.You will support the Prevent strand of CONTEST by connecting counter terrorism policing, force led policing, Prevent Duty Partners and communities. You will also be responsible for overseeing the operational activity and management of Prevent Case Management (PCM) across the region.We are looking for officers with strong leadership skills. You will have experience in case management and knowledge of working within a Partnership/Safeguarding environment. A good understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) is also essential.This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. Therefore the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level DV. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. You will be shortlisted against the Essential Criteria and should submit an online application form.   • Surrey & Sussex officers must be successful in a force promotion process at NPPF Step 3 if they are not currently substantive at the rank. These officers will be supported in doing the role on an acting basis until the next Surrey / Sussex promotion process takes place. However, please be aware that Surrey Police / Sussex Police will not recognise them as having been temporarily promoted to NPPF Step 4 until they have gone through (and are successful) in our own in-force NPPF Step 3 promotion process.
