Responsibilities / Tasks
  • Working in the projects team for the GEA SFT UK Service in the role of commissioning engineer you will be responsible for the successful start up of Separation and Flow technology equipment.
  • Make a full technical assessment of assigned projects. This includes a review of the installation, GA Drawings the PID and related EPLAN.
  • Review the control functional description and related data exchange. Working with the automation engineer plan the full system integration of the equipment.
  • Preparation of the commissioning documentation.
  • Liaise with the customer and GEA project team to determine the site conditions and integration of the equipment into the existing process.
  • Liaise with internal and external contacts to resolve issues when necessary
  • Review of the process warranties and plan the process conditions necessary to meet the requirements.
  • Escalate in a timely manner any technical concerns on the project.
  • Lead technical discussions with the client to ensure the installation is complete and agree the commissioning programme.
  • Attend site and supervise the installation of the equipment.
  • Conduct mechanical assembly works as required
  • Make a full mechanical assessment of the installation.
  • Electrical inspection and full I/O checks of the whole of the installation.
  • Commissioning of the control panels and installed instrumentation including set up and scaling as required.
  • Configuration of HMI’s and drive units.
  • Dry Start-up of the equipment conducting all commissioning and alarm checks.
  • Process commissioning and optimisation including product trials and CIP tests.
  • Final sign off and handover to the client
  • Compile final commissioning documentation.
  • Work in accordance with QSHE requirements and GEA Health & Safety policies
  • Be able to support the service team when there is a business need.
Your Profile / Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in executing service / commissioning of separation or process equipment
  • Qualified and able to demonstrate mechanical and electrical competency
  • Process engineering experience
  • Basic automation skills would be an advantage
