Develops Firmware & Electronic Software for New Assemblies and End-of-Life Items
Understand internal & external customer application requirements
Work with software developers or sub-contractors to learn and understand the code base
Write high-quality, source code to program complete applications within deadlines
Perform unit and integration testing before production launch
Troubleshoot identified application issues
Identify unknown bugs and offer timely solutions
Testing of modified applications and identification of deficiencies with proposed solutions
Creates Test Plans and Reports for Qualification, & Acceptance Testing
Performs Laboratory Testing on Bread Boards & Mock-ups
Creates & Maintains Tasks Lists
Assists in System Integration, Testing, and Troubleshooting
Supports other engineering disciplines and other functional areas
Completes other related duties as assigned by supervisor and mentor
Travel will be required (approximately 15%)QualificationsCandidates must possess diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Must know the current software development lifecycle along with manufacturing processes and standards, especially those commonly seen in the defense industry.Required:
Must be a United States Citizen or Naturalized U.S. Citizen
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, or Computer) with 5-8 years’ experience and demonstrated proficiency in the above areas or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of software development experience – embedded and PC-based software
FPGA experience and Verilog Code, and/or With STM32 associated microcontrollers and development tools
Familiarity with Object-Oriented Methodologies
Familiarity with the Visual Studio IDE and .NET framework
Knowledge of multiple programming languages – C, C++, C#, & Visual Basic
High understanding of software design and programming principles and best practices
Critical thinker with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Must be a highly effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
Must be highly self-motivated and able to work in both team and individual environments
Microsoft Office including the use of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, & other desktop tools
Highly organized, able to multitask, and prioritize various activitiesPreferred (in ascending order):
Master’s Degree
10+ years of Relative Experience
Digital & Analog Circuit Design Experience
Avionics or Defense Industry Experience
Experience with Ruggedized & Avionic Displays (commercial and/or military)
