- Maintaining all environments (servers, patching, databases, and applications) including Development, Test and Production.
- Developing and maintaining database management systems (transactional and reporting).
- Developing new O&M Manuals for those systems who do not have a current O&M Manual and update in accordance with the deliverables schedule.
- Operating and maintaining the database management systems and platforms deployed in the US and Missions, including routine maintenance, upgrades, capacity planning, monitoring for availability and performance tuning, diagnosing/troubleshooting, database backup, and recovery.
- Installing, configurating, developing and supporting customer specific applications that are unique to the organization mission objectives.
- Planning and scheduling maintenance including security patching and emergency responses for database management systems and platforms in the production environment.
- Administering business services, databases, and tools including account creation, access control settings, password resets, executing data scripts as per SOPs, tracing sessions, and providing logs.
- Coordinating with platform Contractors / vendors for issuing and receiving patches to resolve database server software related defects.
- Implement data at rest encryption for new databases.
- Supporting the platform system administrators for database and web applications in providing analysis and recommendations for any system or performance improvements, such as SQL Profile Changes and Database Indexes.
- Performing maintenance of the Change Management Database (CMDB)
- Generating the monthly performance reports for each response SLA, to include raw databased reports and the identification and explanation of anomalies that caused changes in data or SLA performance.
- Upgrading and maintaining DB2 and related 3rd party software at or above release levels.
- Ensuring all DBA activities meet contract SLAs.
- An active SECRET or the ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 - 11 years, or master’s degree with 6 - 9 years, or PhD with 3 - 6 years’ experience is required; four (4) years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience developing, updating, and deploying SQL queries.
- Experience using SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) or other ETL.
- Proficient with the DB2 Relational Database Management System (RDBMS).
- Ability to directly interface with clients from end users to project management, sensitive to clients' needs, able to develop excellent client relationships.
- Ability to design, implement and support database and application backup and recovery solutions.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Federal government customer DBA project experience.
