We are delighted to be working with our well known client who are looking for their next Distillery Manager.You will lead, coach & guide a team of passionate and forward thinking operators and work alongside a fantastic Assistant Distillery Manager who really care about what they do - you have the opportunity to thrive in this role having a fantastic team behind you!You must come with a strong Technical Competence as a baseline and we would consider candidates coming from different industries such as chemical, brewing, gin, whisky etc.Our client are looking for someone who is committed, who has drive behind them and has the ability to lead, coach & guide a team. Having passion for sustainability and continuous improvement will also be key!We would consider candidates at Head Distiller or Assistant Distillery Manager level or similar who are ready to take that next step but equally have the ability to be responsible for the full operation of the Distillery Plant producing 1.2Million LPA.Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee the production of new make spirit and gin, including distillery planning and raw material management.
  • Manage onsite warehousing operations and stocktaking activities.
  • Provide accurate production records and reports to the Head of Distilleries.
  • Lead and manage distillery staff to meet business objectives and maintain high levels of engagement.
  • Develop annual budgets and collaborate with the Head of Distilleries on capital investment decisions.
  • Maintain product quality, volume commitments, and contractual arrangements.
  • Monitor and manage raw material quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Personal Specification:
  • Science or engineering degree qualified, with a general certificate in Brewing or Distilling preferred.
  • Experience in a management role, preferably in the brewing, distilling, chemical manufacturing sector.
  • Financially literate with the ability to manage distillery budgets.
  • Proficient in MS applications, with knowledge of SAP and ERP systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with excise regimes and bonded premises operations.
  • Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
