Job Description:DescriptionTechnology Specialist I - Imaging PACS Administrator - Digital and Technology Partners - Onsite/HybridLocation: Mount Sinai Hospital main campus location; 3 days onsite weekly (no specific days, rotate with others), may visit other facilities if a need arises rarely.Specific Hours: This department coverage is 7:30am - 5:30pm, working 8 hours shift within this window. Start times will vary/rotate and oncall rotation required.The Technology Specialist I acts as the principal technology expert for major systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs.
Responsibilities
  • Track, communicate and manage Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) implementation and administration
  • Administer PACS servers and storage for managing and arching patient procedure images
  • Administer NAS/SAN storage systems from NetApp, EMC)
  • Administer VMWare infrastructure, Windows & Linux servers
Interact with PACS vendors * Coordinate system upgradesMonitor system performance and make improvements
Oversee departmental desktop and modality support services
Acts as expert technical resource to development staff in all phases of imaging systems development and implementation process. * Develop and implement integration strategiesDevelop track and control implementation schedules
Develop policies and procedures for enterprise integration
Ensure accuracy of interface connectivity and verify integrity of interface data
Transition ownership of application to individual team resources
Maintain schedule status update meetings * Interact with department headsQualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Masters degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience working in information technology
  • Imaging (PACS) systems administration and modality configurations
  • Understanding of DICOM and HL7 interface standards
  • Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and SAN/NAS storage systems (NetApp/EMC) administration
  • VMWare administration
  • Knowledge and experience with network technologies (TCP/IP, Microsoft)
  • Project management skills, principles and practices
  • Familiarity with Microsoft development tools (.net, MS-Project, MS-Office)
  • Experience with managing desktop services
  • System implementation experience
  • Troubleshooting/problem solving skills
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and writing skills
  • Clinical and information systems background
