As such, we are actively fighting human trafficking, smuggling of drugs and weapons and do make sure international sanctions against countries and regimes are correctly executed within ING.The KYC team in North America is offering a position in New York for a professional who enjoys working in an international banking environment. The KYC (Know Your Client) department coordinates all KYC related activities across different ING business sectors, both with external clients and internal stakeholders.The KYC team is crucial in the onboarding of new customers and plays a key role in managing the non-financial risk of the current client portfolio.About the position:The KYC team in North America is offering a Reporting Officer position to an individual able to work in autonomy with a passion for transforming data into information and driving operational excellence.As a Reporting Officer, you will work closely with your KYC and commercial colleagues, the Customer Domain Unit (Processing and Production team), the 2nd line of defence and 3rd party service providers in the collection, tracking and maintenance of KYC (operational) data.Your key responsibilities:
  • Produce status reports and dashboards as input for weekly progress meetings with respective teams.
  • Ensure local and global reports are in sync on a continuous basis.
  • Actively contribute - and manage as needed - Cockpit projects, notably related to the implementation of a sustainable KYC reporting solution for ING Americas using PowerBI.
  • Support individuals and teams by tracking and tracing assignments and make suggestions for workload balancing across Processing/Production and portfolio Management teams.
  • Independently provide input for senior management meetings & share data and insights that allow accurate decision making.
  • Support set-up of annual review/ book of work scope and corresponding operational plan and help maintain it all year long.
  • Assign reviews to the respective production units based on the agreed operational plan and monitor reviews completion.
  • Oversee ad-hoc data requests, demonstrating autonomy and seniority.
Candidate Profile:Qualifications / Education:
  • BA/BS in Statistics, Mathematics, MIS, Computer Science, Business or other relevant field of study.
Experience / Knowledge:
  • 5+ years of experience working in project management and reporting in financial institution, preferably with a focus on KYC, customer onboarding or other areas of financial crime risk management.
  • Solid first experience with data management and in-depth knowledge of reporting tools such as MS Excel and Power BI. Hands-on experience with SQL, VBA, Python or R for advanced analytics is considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to organize data autonomously in such a manner as to create valuable insights.
