Payroll and Finance AssistantPayroll and Finance AssistantSalary: £24,000 - £26,000 plus company benefitsLocation: Ormskirk, Lancashire (office based role)Who are Exceptional Care?Exceptional Care is a therapeutic children's service providing care and support to children and young people aged 8-17, from complex backgrounds, who display challenging behaviour and EBD. The service is an independent social care organisation with multiple residential units across the whole of the North West. The senior leadership team has been transformed to ensure the right people have oversight of the organisation.Exceptional Care believes that consistency in care is paramount to children/young people with complex needs, to this end we are committed to developing and maintaining good communicative relationships with the child/young person.Your RoleReporting to the Accounts Managers, you will provide support to the finance team focusing on accuracy, quality and timeliness. This a dual role and you will be responsible for the general running of payroll services within the company, so must be diligent and have superior attention to detail. This role isideal for someone with experience in payroll and accounts and is looking to develop in their career.There is scope to progress in the business and this role would allow someone to gain exposure to management accounts, budgets and forecasts once they have settled into the role.INDECAbout the roleRole DescriptionSolid understanding of payroll processes, including calculating wages, deductions, and benefits.Support with purchase ledger and processing invoicesSupport with credit control and processing sales invoicesCompleting balance sheet reconciliationsAccruals and prepaymentsPreparation and input of journalsSupport petty cash managementAssisting with preparation of financial reportsSupport cash flow forecastingAssist with preparation of Management AccountsCommunicate with staff across the business and build meaningful relationshipsGeneral Support: Assisting the finance team with any other tasks or projects as neededExperiencePrevious experience of working in an accounts department is required.Experience of nominal account reconciliations.Experience of posting transactions into nominal ledgers.Experience of reconciling bank accounts.Experience of processing purchase invoices and sales invoices.Knowledge of accounting principles.SkillsGood Excel skillsGood IT skillsGood communication skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data entryMeets deadlines in a fast-paced work environmentProblem solving: having the capacity to analyse problems in a logical and structured way using available information, generating innovative solutions and adapting approaches to problem-solving to achieve positive outcomesQualificationsEssential- Part qualified AAT or demonstrably QBE (Qualified by Experience)- Experience in payroll and payroll related packagesDesirable- Part Qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA /CIPFA- Experience of utilising Bright HR, Bright Pay, Easy Log, WagestreamBenefits and Incentives:- Comprehensive, paid induction training through our sister company Think Tank Academy- Consistent support, training and development within our organisation- Employee Assistance Programme- Outstanding service employee of the year award -£3,000 voucher based award- Employee of the month award- Paid Blue Light care on completion of induction for the first year of employment- Medicash- Cycle to work program- Long Service award - £200 for 2 years, £400 for 5 years and £600 for 10 years (all of which include increased annual leave and will be paid by a gift voucher of your choice)- Pension Scheme- Length of Service Holiday Scheme - Awarding up to an additional 3 days paid leave per year with continued service, above Statutory Entitlement- Refer a Friend Scheme offering £100 for every person you successfully recommend.- Free Gym Membership, including group classesINDECAbout the companyPRIDE in our work, our professionalism, our young people and our organisation.Required Criteria
  • Part qualified AAT or demonstrably QBE (Qualified by Experience)
