We are Australia's largest company in this sector, providing essential services to millions of customers and communities nationally.About the opportunity:Based in Cairns, Queensland at our Portsmith depot, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to perform routine and un-planned servicing to our varied fleet of assets. Reporting to our on-site Equipment Manager as a part of a 30+ vehicle fleet, day to day you will be responsible for tasks including diagnostics, servicing, troubleshooting and repair work.About you:To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
  • Certificate III in Engineering (Heavy Diesel Mechanic) or equivalent
  • Valid HR/MR/MC licence
  • Experience with a range of heavy vehicles
  • Zero Harm Safety mindset
  • Willingness to take a Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test
  • Willingness to undertake a National Police check (if required)
Waste industry experience is not essential, however possessing a good attitude, being reliable and having a willingness to learn is. Ideally our suitable candidate will have some experience in electrics and/or hydraulics to support our business to thrive.Why join Cleanaway:
