If you want to join a multinational insurance company and grow your career, then look no further we have just the role for you!A bit about the job:As a Mid-Market Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing an underwriting team to deliver set business objectives through growing a portfolio of business, whilst ensuring there is compliance with internal policies, procedures, professional standards and underwriting regulations. You will be able to effectively manage a team of Underwriters with mixed levels of experience, to deliver required results and contribute to the overall profitable performance of the branch. Through leading your team you will drive the development and progression of individuals, and you will be responsible for implementation of policies, procedures and best practices to optimise team performance. You will be able to effectively manage changes within the team, address concerns and respond to raised issues. As well as the above you will be leading the delivery of the best possible underwriting journey for our customers, ensuring that your team make timely risk assessments when underwriting new business, mid-term adjustments or renewals, within designated authority and guidelines. You will collaborate with other leaders and teams to resolve complex underwriting issues and improve the overall underwriting performance. You will develop and build relationships with customers, brokers and account managers and provide, personally or through expert colleagues, high quality support and query resolution.Skills and experience we’re looking for:Excellent leadership skills with the ability to people manage a team. Experience of a leadership role is preferable but not essentialExcellent communication, listening, time management and negotiating skills. Ability to communicate and present effectively to internal colleagues and external customers/brokersExperience of working within the Insurance Industry, and preferable, past or present underwriting experienceGood knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislationHave a love of learning grounded in curiosity, open-mindedness and a drive to make things better by understanding them more completelyWhat you’ll get for this role:Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too.
