If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you to join our team as a Behaviour Mentor at a highly regarded secondary school in Denton.Role Overview:As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing targeted support and intervention to students who may require additional assistance with managing their behaviour. Your responsibilities will include:Behaviour Management: Implementing effective behaviour management strategies and techniques to support students in developing positive attitudes, self-discipline, and social skills, both within and outside the classroom.Individualised Support: Providing one-to-one mentoring and support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to identify triggers, develop coping strategies, and make positive choices in their interactions with peers and staff.Conflict Resolution: Assisting students in resolving conflicts and disputes, promoting restorative approaches to conflict resolution and encouraging positive communication and problem-solving skills.Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to develop and implement personalised behaviour support plans for students, monitoring progress and adjusting interventions as necessary.Positive Role Modelling: Acting as a positive role model for students, demonstrating empathy, respect, and integrity in all interactions, and fostering a culture of mutual respect and inclusivity within the school community.Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience in supporting students facing behavioural challenges, demonstrating a non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques, with the ability to implement and adapt strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school environment, prioritising student well-being and success.
