This is a place to make a difference in the world.The Role & What You Will Be DoingReporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical Design Engineer will have a key role to play as part of the engineering team, with key responsibilities in the area of equipment reliability, introduction of new products and equipment, and the implementation and development of new engineering technologies.Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Mechanical Design Engineer role will make an impact:Lead and support engineering design tasks on projects and mechanical improvements as part of an integrated project team.Design and specification of mechanical engineering solutions to current regulations and design standards.Lead the development and integration of new technologies within the Engineering group.Support the introduction of new products by initiating and developing any design changes required to existing equipment.Support the line technicians in design out and improvement projects to increase and maintain equipment reliability.Continue to develop the ‘Virtual Stores’ project to further expand the drawings library of critical parts and components.Liaise with local workshops to ensure agreements are in place to meet all site requirements.About Your Skills & ExperienceFor this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.3-4 years’ experience in a similar role.Excellent PC skills with experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks a key requirement to the role.Good communication skills combined with an imaginative and creative approach to problem solving is required.Strong attention to detail.Maintains a high standard in report writing.Self-driven, proactive and flexible.Team player.At Viatris, we are dedicated to building a truly diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t fully align with every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
