Offer DescriptionBeijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) now invites candidates for this position which is expected to be filled in September 2024:Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Media and Communication Studies (Ref: FHSS231105)Job DescriptionThe program of Media and Communication Studies (MCOM) in the Department of Communication at UIC invites applications from student-centered scholar-practitioners broadly trained in one or more of the following fields: * communication and media theory;
new media;
international communication,
convergent and multimedia journalism.

To ensure you receive full consideration please send in the application before then.Job RequirementAll applicants should hold a PhD degree in Media and Communications with a commensurable research profile. Applicants with an MA and extensive industry experience will also be considered. Other requirements include a firm commitment to teaching and tutoring students as well as engaging in theory-based qualitative or quantitative research. Teaching responsibilities of 3 courses per semester may include courses related to communication theory, cross-cultural/intercultural communication, and others of the applicant's own interests. Research experience in media literacy and digital/new media-related areas will be an added asset. Preference will be given to candidates who can undertake original research leading to high-quality outcomes.Benefits and Appointment TermsCommencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave and social insurance.
