So that together we can support even more people - including our own - to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.If you believe in better, we’d love to hear from you.About the RoleThis role will support development and maintenance of intelligent auditing and reporting frameworks, tools, and data marts within Group Internal Audit China to improve the auditing quality and ensure provision of value-adding insights relating to risks and controls; act as domain experts to develop data analytic capabilities in the team; perform other responsibilities to support data analytic initiatives to meet operational requirements.Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support planning and implementation of the overall analytics and intelligence strategy within GIA.
  • Identify top audit focus areas and drive the annual risk-based audit planning exercise.
  • Craft and develop data analytical projects or continuous monitoring models/dashboards to suit the overall internal auditing framework, approach and methodology.
  • Plan, lead and implement DA reviews according to established schedule and quality.
  • Facilitate issuance of audit reports to management.
  • Implement effective and continuous monitoring and develop overall audit strategies.
  • Work with various audit teams to determine and meet their reporting and data analytics needs.
  • Find opportunities to help and work across projects to optimise the operating processes through data analytics and statistical modelling.
  • Expand insurance-business-related knowledge and familiarise with dataflow between systems
  • Proactively contribute to the development of the team through mentor, training and providing timely feedback to junior staff.
  • Deliver training or share knowledge of the data analytics skills to GIA members.
  • Build a tool/platform to empower business auditors to conduct self-service data analytics
  • Develop rapport with management through regular communication of changes in business operations, emerging risks and potential issues, etc.
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities and industry standard processes for GIA, such as explore the use of new technologies to improve audit efficiency and expand audit coverage.
Job Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics preferred
  • 10 years+ of experience in a data analysis role preferably with internal audit, a risk function, consultancy, IT, and/or a control function in the insurance, financial or a related industry.
  • Working knowledge with data analysis software; good understanding of data systems, data mining, data warehouse management, data query and coding language methods, such as SQL, SAS, ACL, IDEA, Tableau and/or various BI tools
  • Familiar with application control audit methodology and common issues, and its use in conjunction with business audits
  • Familiar with user requirements management, software development, application operation and maintenance, system construction or architecture design related areas
  • Familiar with database technology, data security, dataflow tracking, relation analysis, data cleaning, and script optimizing methods
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements and key risks in areas such as personal information protection and cross-border data transfer
  • Good command of both oral and written English. Excellent presentation skills
  • Proven problem solving skills, ability to analyse complex data, identify core issues, investigate, evaluate and reach appropriate conclusions
