Job Description:Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Supervisor, Accounting - BC, this position is responsible for verifying, recording, and reconciling gaming revenue. Receives leadership and direction from the team, ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, and provides a supportive learning environment.Key Accountabilities
  • Verifies, records, and reconciles daily gaming revenue, costs, bingo sales, and inventory in CARRS (internal gaming reporting program) for BC sites
  • Performs weekly gaming reconciliation, reports coupon redemptions, and communicates with each site to closely monitor coupon costs
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual working papers
  • Prepares quarterly found money reconciliation and processes donations
  • Records lottery sales, settlement for assigned sites, and prepares reconciliations
  • Responds to and resolves inquiries and issues related to gaming revenue
  • Analyzes gaming floats/liability on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Monitors accounting processes related to gaming; identifies opportunities for efficiencies
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational teams and gaming regulatory bodies
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests, team members, and regulators
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance, or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel skills, including complex formulas
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and JDE or other related accounting software an asset
  • Ability to be self-directed and take initiative while working independently and remaining focused on an assignment through to delivery
  • Ability to exceed internal and external expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication
