Seize the opportunity: take your next step with us and join our team.Director, Human Resources (Full Time)- Mississauga, ONThe Director, Human Resources is responsible for building and sustaining effective human resources systems that support the vision, strategy, values, and goals of the Linde Canada business. The Human Resources Director will be a member of the Canadian Leadership Team, is the Chief Privacy Officer and will lead and influence key decisions around organizational structure, talent management, career development, training, succession, talent acquisition, diversity, equity & inclusion, total rewards, payroll and internal communications. The role oversees broad HR strategy through customizing, executing and evaluation solutions while cultivating strong relationships with leaders throughout the organization.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Provides day-to-day direction and guidance to HR Advisors in the areas of labour + employee relations, talent acquisition/management + employee retention, employee wellness + workplace accessibility, disability management and total compensation and benefits.
  • Shares expertise, advice and direction in the development, implementation, maintenance and coordination of practice and policy related to employee relations and labour relations including contract administration and negotiations.
  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Identification and compliance with applicable data Privacy Law, handling of data privacy breaches and complaints, privacy training, breach and complaint management
  • Participates as a strategic partner and advisor to senior management teams in the business, contributing to the development of short- and long-term strategies; takes a lead role in determining the major HR implications of those strategies, balancing business perspective with the needs of individual employees and alignment with Linde’s business and HR objectives.
  • Identifies and leads the implementation of HR programs, influencing strategic change, by: maintaining an awareness of future/emerging trends and best practices in HR and through ongoing liaison with HR peers within the Linde Group.
  • Monitors HR programs and processes to ensure they meet the stakeholders’ future needs and deliver intended outcomes.
  • Leads global initiatives that ensure talent attraction, retention and engagement for Linde Canada including diversity & inclusion, talent management, leadership, and employee development training strategies for Linde Canada.
  • Oversees and directs Linde Canada’s internal communication efforts.
  • Knowledge of Human Rights and basic employment law
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive senior Human Resources experience, the ideal candidate will have a proven record of success managing a team toward the achievement of corporate human resources objectives.
  • Experience in strategic HR partner roles in a large, national organization and previous experience working as part of a global team in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Experience in partnering with senior business leaders to successfully deliver leading HR initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of HR disciplines such as talent management, performance management, organizational design, change management, payroll, total rewards, DEI, and internal communications.
  • Strong business acumen paired with hands-on approach and proven ability to translate business needs into HR plans and drive programs that support business objectives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of developing and maintaining highly effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred.
