Job Description:Join the cutting-edge world of Digital Buildings at Schneider Electric, the largest Line of Business in the Digital Energy division.We are on the look out for a passionate individual to assume the role of Engineering Data and PLM Configuration Management Specialist in our office in Montreal (CA).You will be responsible for the data preparation and maintenance of Configuration Management functions in assigned projects/products, to assure consistency in application of Configuration Management principles and change control processes over the lifecycle of a project/product.This function is pivotal role that bridges design, development, and manufacturing to ensure the excellence and compliance of our products throughout their lifecycle.What will you do?
  • Manage the PLM system for configuration management of the project/product including analysis of requirements; system configuration; customization; data loading and end-user training
  • Oversee migration of preexisting data into corporate Configuration Management system for established products
  • Participate in the analysis of requirements for Configuration Management, prepare time estimates during project phases, and identify associated risks
  • Ensures consistency of information in the Configuration Management system for the products
  • Participate in creation of Product Breakdown Structure (PBS)
  • Ensures proper use of PLM system and end-to-end implementation of the Configuration Management practices on the assigned Project/Product as well as coaching of the project team members
  • Provides support to resolve configuration management issues during product and project lifecycles; escalate and complete corrective actions in a timely fashion
  • Ensure liaison with Schneider Electric unit Configuration Management personnel involved in the project as well as with subcontractors/suppliers regarding project Configuration Management related issues
  • Contribute to improvement initiatives of Configuration Management procedures and tools and overall development of the discipline, coaching of peers and new tool end-users
  • Provides leadership to drive organizational change. Partners with the engineering departments to provide advice and guidance for the adoption of new processes.
  • Support the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Work closely with Product Development, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to ensure configuration management processes are integrated seamlessly
  • Facilitate Configuration Change Board (CCB) meetings to discuss and approve proposed changes
  • Contribute to maintenance of Digital Assets onto corporate portal to enhance customer experience
What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • Working experience with PLM systems (*preferred: PTC Windchill)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Configuration Management practices and principles
  • Experience with hardware and development processes
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Industrial products development experience (or similar) with understanding of the context for the job function
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and French to allow effective communication with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Proficiency with data collection, data cleaning, data analysis with large datasets
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in configuration management, data management, or related fields (product development through a direct role in Configuration Management), within Engineering or transverse
