On behalf of our client, we are searching for a Health & Safety Specialist for a position near Niagara Falls, ON.Responsibilities:
  • Design & deliver custom health and safety training programs
  • Ensure training programs & procedures comply with OHS regulations, laws and industry standards
  • Ensure employees are up to date on training by maintaining accurate records
  • Participate in JHSC
  • Conduct risk assessments at all sites
  • Perform site inspections and audits
  • Create and maintain health & safety policies, procedures and protocols
  • Provide HSE related best practices advisory information to management
  • Maintain accurate accident records and prepare details incident reports
  • Investigate all accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Report safety violations and recommend solutions to prevent future occurrences
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Health & Safety or related field
  • OHS certification or designation
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of current legislation, Codes of Practices, Bulletins and other safe work practice requirements
  • Ability to maintain confidences and ensure confidentiality of information and records
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with clean abstract
  • Proficiency with MS-Office
