- Meets Business Unit (BU) financial targets (COGS, revenue, margins & inventory) Performance Measures.
- Oversees annual operating plan/budget.
- Responsible for Operations, Supply Chain and Manufacturing cost savings initiatives and efficiencies.
- Responsible for manufacturing plant management and performance metrics –quality, cost and delivery.
- Establishes plant vision, direction, and goals to achieve growth objectives.
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of robust business processes tailored towards “Best in Class” practices.
- Provides direction, leadership, supports, motivates, and retains high-caliber staff.
- Promotes “total customer satisfaction” (delivery, quality etc.) within all Ops teams.
- Actively involved in critical problem resolution via root cause analysis and project management activities.
- Manages the S&OP process while working with the VP Sales, Sales, Ops and Materials Managers.
- Supports and promotes BU initiatives, working closely with the VP and the remainder of the BU Senior Management Team.
- Holds regular communications and quarterly strategic planning meetings with staff.
- Participates in annual BU Strategic Planning Sessions to develop BU Operations strategies, fiscal Operating plans and budgets, departmental goals & objectives etc.
- Determines departmental staffing requirements as part of Operational planning/budgeting.
- Participates in various meetings including but not limited to; CMT, PMT, MBR, S&OP, Supplier Performance, Product Safety Committee etc.
- Degree or diploma in business or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- At least 10 years’ experience in relevant Operations space
- Professional designation/certification in purchasing, materials management, quality management are desirable.
- Professional designation/certification in Lean Six Sigma is an asset.
- Professional development in people management.
- Specialization in Production, Supply and Operations Management.
- Experience in supply chain management including managing contract manufacturers with the electronics and mechanical expertise.
- Experience in ‘soft goods’ and military applications.
- Experience in mechanical and electrical military requirements would be an asset.
