The emphasis of this job is to enhance the design of existing product lines. The role is focused on design, innovation, and integration. We offer great team environment, learning opportunities and ability to grow!The TeamAs the Design Engineer, you will collaborate with the Engineering Team and Production to develop designs that integrate into our product line.Responsibilities
  • Enhance the production process and design product improvements to our existing line, with the goal of doing more, faster, better and with less.
  • Problem-solve in a fast paced environment: design a solution in Solid Works, build a prototype the next day then release the solution to the production floor the following day.
  • Design and launch new products demanded by growing market within weeks.
  • Work effectively in a collaborative design team, including representatives from other AGI facilities, departments, customers, and suppliers.
  • Review and create engineering documentation including engineering change notices.
  • Assist with the assembly of product information for technical writers to create manuals.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
  • 1-2 years relevant experience in engineering within manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in mechanical design and metal fabrication processes.
  • Proficiency with 3D design platforms; Solid Works experience an asset.
  • Well-developed understanding of mechanical machinery and hydraulic principles preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • A farm/agricultural background will be considered an advantage.
