- Leverage technical ability to drive the overall configuration architecture and technical solutions’ design for CarMax’s Accounting Systems. Responsible for the design, configuration, and system administration to include Oracle Financials, Coupa (Procurement, Invoicing, Budgets, Analytics, SIM), Workday and/or other proprietary systems.
- Provide technical insight and influence others with recommendations when faced with decisions to ensure system configuration and training supports compliance, policy changes and the needs of the business. Periodically present recommendations to Sr. Leadership.
- Perform complex analysis, design, development and unit testing of various software and applications.
- Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot workflows and datasets in Alteryx for analysis, forecasting, and report delivery.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, automate manual processes, optimize data delivery process, and re-design infrastructure for greater scalability.
- Use technical ability to develop code for solutions that use VBA, SQL Server, Oracle SQL Developer, Teradata, Python, Etc.
- Act as a liaison with various business areas by discussing their concerns, performing root cause analysis, providing recommendations, and implementing solutions.
- Create and update documentation such as best practices, technical specifications, implementation guides, architecture diagrams and design documents.
- Lead, mentor, develop and train less experienced analysts using technical ability, best practices and industry standards for process automations, process engineering and continuous improvement methods.
- Provide troubleshooting as it relates to complex system administration and providing third tier or higher support for CarMax Accounting Systems in Oracle Financials, Coupa, Middleware Automation tools (Blue Prism Robotics Process Automation, Alteryx), VBA, SQL Server, Oracle SQL Developer, Teradata, etc.)
- Use business and technical knowledge to make recommendations to improve the Business Partner’s system experience and processes; influence Business Partners and Management, and champion change.
- Provide direction and delegate project responsibilities to assigned team resources, including creating test plans and perform testing with developers and business partners; and future state process mapping and training documentation to ensure overall functionality and technical quality of deliverables. Deliver artifacts when needed.
- Develop comprehensive configuration and testing strategy.
- Lead technical aspects of data migration and/or cutover activities; serve as the team’s point person for system upgrades and implementations.
- Create project plans and lead resources to execute the plan when serving as the tactical project owner or strategic project track owner.
- Use business and technical knowledge to make recommendations to improve the Business Partner’s system experience and processes; influence Business Partners and Management, and champion change.
- Lead technical aspects of data migration and/or cutover activities; serve as a point person for system upgrades and implementations.
- Proficiency in developing and debugging solutions built with Python, VBA, SQL, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously to deliver within tight deadlines and drive to achieve team goals independently required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience and good written skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation required.

- Understanding of accounting principles and SOX controls preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience with Alteryx preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience in implementation, administration, design, testing, deployment and troubleshooting systems and automation technologies required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Access (including VBA) skills preferred
- Advanced knowledge of SQL required (Snowflake, MS Access, Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle SQL, Google Big Query) required
- Reporting writing or template creation using Oracle OTBI, BI Publisher, FBDI or Power BI preferred
- Proficiency developing and debugging products built with Python preferred
- Power Platform (Canvas/model-driven apps, SharePoint, MicroSoft SharePoint, MicroSoft Power Apps) preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Business (i.e., Accounting, Finance, Economics) or equivalent practical experience required
