- Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and account balances are accurately stated in accordance with IFRS and Company policy
- Promote a risk-aware culture that proactively seeks to mitigate risk where appropriate
- As required, support the execution of the wider Risk & Controls work program, including internal audits, enterprise risk assessment processes and other consulting/project work.
- Assess accounts for risk by identifying aged and unusual transactions
- Continuously drive operational improvements and process efficiencies
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans and recommendations, with follow up and support for resolutions.
- Coordinate, perform and review month-end and quarter-end activities.
- Monthly and quarterly sign off (One stream, resolver, narratives, etc. Help create control environment and risk register for Balance sheet reconciliation process)
- As required, support business with miscellaneous journal entries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide support for various projects and initiatives including system and process improvements, business development activities and the integration of acquisitions
- Degree in Accounting, Business Finance or a related field
- Professional accounting designation or working towards designation
- 2 to 3 years’ experience as an auditor
- Strong understanding of financial systems, processes and internal controls
- Working knowledge of GAAP (IFRS)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Strong analytical and computer skills preferably JDE, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to think outside of the box and deal with ambiguity
- Ability to build strong relationships within the team as well as within the business;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams
- Self-starter and enthusiastic learner with demonstrated ability to multi-task and thrive in a high volume, fast-paced and evolving work environment
