We are seeking talented Project Engineers to join our dynamic team. Project Engineers at Saltworks are on a career path to becoming Project Managers. You will play a crucial role in driving innovation, managing projects, and ensuring successful project execution. This role involves a heavy technical and team-based approach, all related to delivering next-generation solutions needed by industry and the planet.Your main tasks will include:
- Managing the project lifecycle:
- Working with Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers to produce work packages for production.
- Research and qualification of new vendors and products.
- Working with suppliers and vendors to design and specify components used within our processes (pumps, valves, motors, filters, etc.).
- Supporting our internal Supply Chain and Production teams to enable project delivery.
- Working with our Quality Assurance team to ensure quality control processes are being followed.
- Supporting commissioning at our factory and at customers’ sites.
- Implementing repeatable designs (full scale) while improving our innovative industrial desalination and resource recovery plants with opportunities to also support innovation, pilots, and new product design.
- Opportunities to become a subject matter expert, enabling you to expand your technical skills, while also developing project management skills.
- Representing Saltworks with customers and suppliers, including field visits to both (ability to travel to the USA is essential).
- A Mechanical or Chemical engineering degree and the ability to register with EGBC.
- 2-4 years of relevant working experience as an engineer or designer in an industrial setting.
- Track record of generating engineering deliverables in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
- Working knowledge and experience within specific areas of the engineering discipline, such as ASME, B31.1, pressure piping design, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to work well in a team-based environment.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain a high quality of work and quickly learn new skills.
- Impeccable attention to detail and a sense of urgency in completing projects on time.
- Positive attitude, can-do approach, and willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in as required.
- Hands-on tooling and troubleshooting skills (not essential, yet beneficial if you like this type of work).
- Bonus: experience working with SolidWorks 3D design software or AutoCAD P&ID.
