We are looking to hire an Industrial Sales Representative to a Burlington Ontario-based Industrial Distributor offering everything from simple grommets, washers, and O-rings to engine mounts, extrusions, and complex custom rubber parts. These values help define us and contribute to RPM becoming partners with our customers in building life-changing products.The Technical Sales Representative will help increase the revenues of this well-established Burlington Company. This position functions primarily as an on-site specialist to assist our customers with their unique projects. Some travel is also expected for relationship-building and project discussions. Fun, collaborative tight-knit team environment.Responsibilities include:
  • Qualify accounts by determining market potential
  • Record all activities and customer data within the CRM system
  • Prospects potential customers and generates leads
  • Builds account base and further develops and penetrates existing customers as assigned
  • Prepares strategic plans to identify specific targets and projects for future opportunities and sales
  • Prepares presentations, proposals, and sales contracts and demonstrates products to customers where applicable
  • Works with the RPM team to ensure every effort is made to close sales
  • Achieves sales and gross profit goals monthly
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled monthly meetings
  • Increases sales revenues and margins to both new and existing customers
  • Identifies and resolves customer issues/concerns
  • Identifies all buying influences. Conducts regularly scheduled visits with accounts.
  • Develops long-term relationships thereby influencing buying decisions
  • Provides quotations directly or in conjunction with an inside salesperson
  • Seeks out market intelligence, performs market studies, and analyzes information
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Post-Secondary education, preference will be given to Sales\Marketing\Technical disciplines.
  • 3 years minimum experience in industrial/technical sales position - This is a must-have skillset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with reading design drawings/specifications
  • Computer literacy, proficiency in MS Office suite, and CRM Systems- This is a must-have skillset
  • Ability to persuade and influence others
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel
  • Enjoys working in a team environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required
Base Salary + Bonus/Commission structure. Standard Monday to Friday office hours.
