PRODUCTION ASSISTANTSUMMARY OF THE POSITION:Recognized for the quality of its products and services, the Old Port of Montréal Corporation (OPMC) manages a vast recreational and cultural site. A dynamic and diversified place awaits you!As a production assistant, you will assist the project managers in development and production. Participate in the realization of exhibition, cultural and educational activities of a scientific and technological nature in accordance with the needs and standards established.WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Status : Unionized, permanent
  • Schedule : Monday to Friday, 37,5H
  • Starting as soon as possible
  • Salary : 25,83 $ (Class 5)
RESPONSIBILITIES:Cultural and educational activities that meet the defined standards
  • Participates in the design, production and installation of activities (interactives, demos, workshops, etc.) assigned by the project manager
  • Develops and designs the interactives for the activities for which they are responsible.
  • Writes and modifies the animation scenarios for the interactive activities they develop
  • Follows up on the manufacturing and installation of the interactives and the animation material
  • Coordinates and ensures the training of educators and receptionists for the activities under their responsibility
  • Ensures the improvement and maintenance of the quality of the activities following the testing and comments from the clientele
  • Participates in the research, analysis and evaluation of existing and potential activities and proposes improvements based on the results.
Effective and accountable administrative management
  • Participates in the development of quotes for the various activities and the decision support tools required to document the feasibility and viability of the various products under their responsibility
  • Participates in the evaluation of the performance of the various activities. Based on the results, proposes improvements to meet the needs of the various clients
  • Follows up on the planning, schedule and budget of the projects entrusted to them.
  • Validates the feasibility and follows up on the production costs of their activities
  • Completes all administrative transactions related to the purchasing process (purchase orders, invoicing, etc.)
  • Ensures effective consultation with other departments on the activities to be delivered and the expected outcomes.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Academic background in one of the following disciplines: museology, science, cultural action, teaching, cultural animation or research or a field relevant to the position
  • Knowledge of written French (advanced, level 3)
  • Bilingual: English level 3
  • Successful completion of the knowledge and skills assessment test
  • 2 years’ experience in coordinating exhibition activities in the cultural or educational field.
