- Education Required: High School diploma at a minimum
- A valid Nova Scotia Drivers License and access to reliable, all wheel drive transportation
- Experience working in a supervisory or foreman role
- 1-5 years of experience operating machinery in a forestry operation, or operating heavy machinery in another context
- General heavy equipment mechanical skills OR Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate will be considered an asset
- Operate harvesting machinery in an efficient, and productive manner according to J.D. Irving, Limited’s Best Management Practices
- Perform general daily machine maintenance and repairs as required
- Schedule machines for regular repairs and servicing
- Hold operators accountable for meeting production targets and safety standards
- Coordinate with Harvesting Supervisors via daily/weekly/and monthly meetings
- Weekly pay: Up to $30/hr including weekly bonus
