- Conduct coaching of managers and supervisors on all employee relations issues: performance matters including progressive discipline, terminations, and other issues related to policy and provincial employment law
- Execute business unit visits (changeover and engagement) working collaboratively with business unit
- Conduct discrimination and harassment investigations, providing recommendations and documentation to the business unit.
- Where required inform the business unit on labour and employee relations issues to mitigate risk (3rd party and litigation)
- Conduct HR leadership training for business unit on Giant Tiger Talent Development Programs
- Complete administrative activities for the business unit and reinforce the self-service model
- Bilingualism English and French is required (expert level, conversational French skills)
- Post Secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline; or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR role
- Skilled in developing positive working relationships with business leaders
- 1+ years experience coaching and advising managers
- Excellent attention to detail with written work, with a proven ability to effectively communicate in a positive way with internal business units
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate provincial employment law, policies and regulations
- Relevant experience in conducting ER investigations, including Harassment investigations and supporting MOL & Human Rights claims
- Valid driver's licence and personal vehicle
- HR designation such as CHRP or CHRL, either in progress or completed
- College or University degree in business, HR or a related subject, either in progress or completed
- Strong computer skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Experience working in Workday
