Job Description:Technical Service Specialist
  • Experience with automotive coatings application and/or automotive coatings experience.
  • Knowledge of general paint processes - robotic applicators.
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting paint quality issues.
  • Knowledge of mixroom functions – inventory control, usage, material validation (viscosity, pH).
  • Collect & record data including appearance (wave-scan), color (BYK-mac) & filmbuild (PELT).
  • Manage relationships with manufacturing & engineering team at customer sites.
  • Maintain key communication regarding daily projects, line issues.
  • Initiate/participate in internal & external business meetings.
  • Build relationships (all levels) – internal & external.
  • Support change initiatives that help teams deliver value.
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while handling multiple projects.
  • Able to work under stressful situation (quality issues/ spills).
  • Good personality, friendly, outgoing - effective communicator.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible shifts (day & afternoon shifts), weekend work, and OT.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required. Additional education/college degree ideal.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Additional education/college degree in Engineering/Technical field is highly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least three (1) year of automotive coatings application and/or automotive coatings manufacturing experience.
  • Additional experience with automotive painting equipment is highly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate must have an understanding of technical (lab, research, etc.) principles and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while handling multiple projects at any given time.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
