- Advance the effective use of analytics from descriptive, through diagnostic, predictive, and towards and including prescriptive analytics. In particular, on building, implementing and maintaining a strong descriptive analytics foundation.
- Provide project management support for the development of Southlake's Analytics Strategy to be socialized, endorsed, and supported by appropriate senior management leadership.
- Lead the design, development and deployment of sustainable business intelligence and data quality solutions that enable clinical and administrative process optimization.
- Assists in the development of decision support tools, technical documentation, policies, and procedures to establish best practices and standards for analytics and reporting across the organization in conjunction with Southlake's Analytics Strategy initiatives.
- Serve as an expert Decision Support resource to measure performance, validate, monitor, and provide interpretation on benchmarking/comparative reporting; as supported through key levers of Health System Funding Reform, Southlake OHT, Master Plan and Strategic Plan.
- Support Senior Leadership Team, Physician Chiefs, Clinical/Program Directors, Managers and Educators in the development, reporting, analysis and interpretation of key performance indicators.
- Perform data analysis and modelling, make recommendations to maximize quality, outcomes and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with Decision Support Consultants and Coding staff to further enhance the quality, consistency and reliability of Clinical Administrative Databases (DAD and NACRS) in support of CIHI submissions and internal utilization reporting.
- Develop and deliver educational programs on Case-mix grouping methodologies (CMG+,CACS, HIG, RUG-III, RPGs, SCIPP) as it relates to Southlake's Acute, Ambulatory, Continuing Care, Rehabilitation, and Mental Health patient populations; to inform hospital staff on the accurate collection and quality management of clinical, administrative, demographic and assessment data.
- Liaise with Quality & Patient Safety, Infection Prevention & Control, Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Registration, Patient Flow & Bed Allocation and other Departments to ensure that our internal performance measurement activities are aligned with external reporting requirements.
- Facilitate the performance measurement and reporting cycle for Corporate and Clinical Program Balanced Scorecards, dashboards, reports and support internal and external requests for data or analysis as required/assigned.
- Participates on internal and external committees as required/assigned.
- Three or more years of progressive experience providing corporate and clinical stakeholders with decision support/analytics services including data quality audits, key performance indicators, balanced scorecards, benchmarking, data visualization, routine/ad hoc reporting and analysis to support data driven decision making.
- Knowledge of Management Information Systems (MIS) and Ontario Hospital Reporting System (OHRS) health care reporting guidelines and experience supporting mandatory external reporting and Accountability Agreement deliverables.
- Knowledge of Case-mix grouping methodologies (CMG+, CACS, HIG, RUG-III, RPGs, SCIPP) related to CIHI Databases (DAD, NACRS, CCRS, NRS, OMHRS), CCO-OH: Access To Care Wait Times data (Surgery, DI, ER, ALC) and experience completing impact analysis of clinical/operational changes on hospital utilization, funding (HSFR, QBP, P4R), and performance.
- Demonstrated report writing skills for utilization, costing and quality initiatives using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Crystal Reporting, SAS, MS SQL, Access or Excel.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams, Planner, To Do).
- Experience collaborating within and across departments to support department or corporate project management and process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Health Informatics, Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited institution is required
- Master's Degree in Health Administration, Health Informatics, Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- Certified in Health Information Management (CHIM) is preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
- UMNO (Utilization Management Networking of Ontario) affiliation is preferred
- Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) Membership is preferred
- Project Management Institute (PMI) Membership is an asset
