Our client, a leader in the Education industry, is looking for a Salesforce Application Developer to join their team for an initial 18 month contractThey will be working on a new Digital Campus initiative with the goal of enhancing the student experience; by simplifying and personalizing the experience for prospects, applicants, students, learners and alumni as they access services.Advantages

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain robust Salesforce applications and integrations
  • Customize and extend the Salesforce Platform using low-code tools, and programming languages such as JavaScript (Lightning Web Components), and Apex
  • Build consumer facing sites and in-house products using Salesforce Platform core technologies and web stack knowledge on Experience Cloud
  • Build solutions using different open-source languages running on Salesforce Functions or Heroku
  • Automate marketing use cases using REST APIs, SDKs (for different languages, iOS and Android), and AMOScript
  • Create interfaces and integrations to third-party solutions using iPaaS solutions, Salesforce APIs, message queueing systems and standard integration protocols
  • Effectively solicit input and gather requirements from functional subject matter experts and ensure business outcomes can be met with technical solutions within Salesforce platform
  • Translate user requirements into technical recommendations and solutions
  • Working with functional subject matter experts, prepare use/test cases and test data sets for unit testing
  • Create clear technical documentation and contribute to a knowledge base to support maintenance and user training
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases, and development trends
  • Share and collaborate with portfolio technical leads and technology product owners on technical best practices, and ensure alignment in the execution of portfolio-related activities
Qualifications
SKILLS NEEDED
  • Strong expertise with one or more of the following technologies:
o Java/J2EEo Salesforce SOQL, SOSL, and SAQL, Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforceo JavaScript, Spring, Resto SQL, Oracle PL/SQLo JMS/RabbitMQ or similar message queueing systemo CI\CD pipelines such as Jenkins CI and Azure DevOps Pipelineso HTML5, Maven, Bitbucket or GITo AWS technologies
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of business application and integration/web service solutions in a large, complex organization
  • Extensive experience in the analysis and development of web-based and n-tier applications
  • Sound knowledge of current and emerging trends in software development, databases,
application design architecture, and experience with related technology
  • Strong knowledge of higher education data landscape, (is an asset)
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS or Azure
  • Change management experience, managing multiple enterprise environments with dependencies on multiple systems and maintaining related documentation
  • Extensive expertise in using system development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent active listening skills
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • ITIL knowledge
  • Experience working in an agile mode of operations
  • Experience managing work in Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification is an asset
  • Previous education industry or Public sector experience is an asset
